Additional Notes for training for work in schools
The academic level referred to links to an English system as follows:
- Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE A* to C grades
- Level 3 is equivalent to A Levels, or BTec Advanced etc.
- Level 4 is equivalent to a Certificate of Higher Education
- Level 5 is equivalent to a Diploma in Higher Education
- Level 6 is equivalent to an Honours Degree
There are no accredited qualifications for those who work in schools on behalf of another organisation. However http://www.schoolswork.co.uk are currently working with Awarding Bodies to create such a course. It is hoped that the pilot will be available from September 2011.
