Courses from South West Youth Ministries

SWYM ~ Be Transformed (Children and Families)

Gap year in discipleship and practical children and families ministry.The course includes the Level 3 “Engaging with Applied Theology” course from Moorlands College and includes input from Children and Families specialists employed by Scripture Union. Be Transformed is a great opportunity to explore if children and families ministry is something that God is calling you into in the long term. The course acts as a gateway therefore into further training in children and families ministry. Students will be placed in a children and families setting within the South West of England, on a full-time basis, which will enable them to implement and develop their learning and skills.

SWYM ~ Be Transformed (Youth)

SWYM trainees can access the Moorlands College BA (Hons) in Applied Theology, validated by the University of Gloucestershire, through the South West Regional Centre based at Brunel Manor, Torquay.  Students will be placed in a church or inter-church project somewhere in the south-west of England and will then attend study blocks plus on the ground support through SWYM.

An advance training programme for children’s and youth workers, designed to take you further in your knowledge and skills in your ministry in a vocational setting. The course includes the Level 3 “Award in Christian Leadership” course from Moorlands College The programme encompasses personal and spiritual development, advanced practical children’s work and youth work skills, in-depth bible teaching and ministry training. Students will be placed with a ministry project within the South West of England on a full-time basis which will enable them to implement and develop their learning and skills.
