This well established and highly regarded programme is mainly delivered by distance learning. There is a pattern of online tutorials and seminars, supported by on-site study days which take place each term. This distinctive programme offers a practical perspective on the central aspects of youth ministry and school chaplaincy, enabling practitioners to reflect on their work and develop key skills within a pastoral context.
Developed in collaboration with CYMFed (the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation), our programme combines academic study with practical and vocational experience. Students on the course will be actively working with young people (full or part time) and will acquire a range of transferrable skills together with reflective practice on their work. Areas of focus include culture, policy and legislation and human development. The use of scripture will be explored alongside Church teaching, catechesis and tradition.
