Aurora Children

Accredited by St Peter’s College (Sheffield Diocese), moderated by Ian White from Cliff College.
Delivered at academic level 4, students can work towards a level 3 or level 4 certificate.

Students join a diverse mix of students from different churches and denominations, forming friendships that go beyond the course itself.

Course content includes: What is Children’s Ministry?, Children today and their context, A church-wide responsibility (new), Ministry with children, Children’s spirituality and formation, Spiritual formation and discipleship, Gifts and skills of a Children’s Leader, Theology of the child, Child development, Faith development, Learning styles, Godly Play and story-telling, Messy Church (crafts and games), Creative prayer, Schools, Inclusive Ministry, Children in the Church, All age (inter-generational) worship, Programme planning, Sustainability (new), Planning for change in the church (new), Making teams work (safer recruiting, supervision and training), Legal: Child protection policies, safeguarding, risk assessment and insurance
