Ripon College ~ Foundation Certificate in Mission & Ministry with Children, Young People & Families
A new course starting in September 2025, for those engaged in mission and ministry with CYPF as volunteers or paid workers looking to grow in confidence, character and competence whilst exploring their calling to this ministry.
The course is open to all from any denomination and church tradition.
Training is rooted in innovative and missional approaches, developing intergenerational communities and collaborative working as we seek to reimagine mission and ministry with CYPF.
The Foundation Certificate is taught over 2 years part-time or 1 year full-time. Full-time is 2 days per week in college and rest of week in placement.
Ripon College ~ Diploma in Mission & Ministry with Children, Young People & Families
Building on the Certificate course, the Diploma will take you deeper into issues of theology, children and youth work theory and reflective practice.
Available part-time, including some online options and full-time context-based - which means 2/3 day sin college, rest of week in your ministry context.
Ripon College ~ Foundation Award in Mission & Ministry with Children, Young People & Families
A new course for volunteers or paid workers, looking for an entry level qualification or as a way in to further training in Higher Education. Can be accredited or non-accredited.
The course will focus on either children or young people and be integrated with theological training in the college.

Scottish Baptist College Bachelor of Divinity in Theology and Pastoral Studies (Youth and Community)
The course is aimed at anyone who has a passion for serving God in either youth ministry or through community ministry. There is an emphasis on ministry beyond the church building engaging with young people or people in the wider community through the values of Community Learning and Development (CLD). The degree programme combines all the foundational elements of a theology degree for pastoral ministry alongside specialisms in youth and community ministry, public theology, and placement-based theological reflection.
St Mellitus - BA (Hons) Theology, Ministry & Mission (youth or children’s ministry focus)
The full-time degree programme is completed in three years, including one midweek teaching day per week (dependent on centre of study). The programme for Independent students includes two teaching weeks per academic year, each involving 5 consecutive days of taught input Monday-Friday at our London Centre. Ordinands are required to attend 5 residential weekends and one residential week per academic year. It is recommended that a minimum of one-two additional day(s) per week is undertaken for private study.
The degree programme consists of 360 credits and modules are undertaken at levels 4, 5 and 6.The degree programme gives students a strong and broad foundation in their theological understanding and develops skills for thoughtful application to practical ministry. Building on Certificate and Diploma level study, students continue their study in Mission and Apologetics, Advanced Biblical Studies, Advanced Topics in Doctrine, and Issues in Contemporary Culture. All degree students also undertake a longer piece of written independent research in theology.
Independent students choosing a focus in Youth Ministry or Emerging Generations will undertake specific modules related to these areas that build on those covered up to Diploma level.
The full-time BA Programme is offered at our East Midlands, London Monday and South West Centres. (Please note that the Youth Ministry focus is only available in our London Monday Centre).
